The year 2023 will mark 40 years of This Is It! Southern Kitchen & Bar-B-Q. Home of the joyus chant, “It’s the rib tips”, This Is It! has a cadre of events planned to commemorate this major, historical milestone.

Although the company’s earliest existence dates back to 1951 in Tampa, Florida, its operations in the Atlanta area began as Butch’s Slide Inn Bar-B-Q in 1976, and as This Is It! Seafood in 1983. The first restaurant was located at the borderline of Atlanta and Decatur near the intersection of Candler and Glenwood Roads. Mr. Anthony adds, “The longevity of the company is most definitely a blessing. But we thought it would be fitting during Black History Month to highlight others who are also making significant contributions in the areas of faith, family, favor and flavor.”

We are proud to be a part of the Atlanta community for 40 years. We look forward to celebrating the milestone with our guests, family, and friends throughout the year.
